Valve has recently released both TF2 and Counter Strike: Source on the mac platform, which begs the question of which one will you be playing into the time forsaken hours of the night?

I haven't played TF2 in a while, but I have to imagine that it's a more approachable community than the CS community. Besides, you can totally suck and still be of some use in TF2 (medic anyone?). But if you suck at CS, you just get shot in the head and die a lot.

TF2 has classes with entirely different playstyles, whereas in CS:S you're pretty much "Guy with a gun" or "Guy with a more different gun."

I like and play both, but if I could only have one, it's TF2 hands-down.

As said above, while both are enjoyable, if you're only getting one, go with TF2, in my opinion. It has an element of strategy that makes the twitch-headshot gameplay of CS:S less dependent on muscle control, while still fast-paced and action-filled.

I never got into Counter Strike, probably because I kinda suck and would get killed within the first 30 seconds and then spend the next 5 minutes waiting for the next round. It's tough to jump on any competitive game after it's been out for a while, because everyone you play against really knows the maps and all the tricks but that one seems to have an especially high barrier to entry.
