I miss it... is there anything close to what Carmaggedon used to be now?

I also really enjoyed Carmageddon, and the closest I've seen is in Just Cause 2. The point of the game is overall destruction instead of demolition derby, but I consider this a positive improvement. The variety of vehicles including air and water is another big plus. I'm at 89% completion with only the first storyline missions done, but I am still thoroughly enjoying the game. Red Faction: Guerrilla may be another option, but although I bought the game during a Steam sale I haven't had the chance to play it beyond the tutorial.
